Shanghai Post-Script: Ancient Town Park

A highlight of  our Shanghai trip was the visit to Gucheng Park (古代公园).

On a hot June day people gathered in areas well suited… here men and their birds stopped for beverages and conversation. Through the bamboo woods there is a narrow shady path.

Here Mark Kramer and I met up with an impromptu group of Tai Chi players and experienced the energetic inspiration and comradeship that practicing the meditative martial art form provides.
